Nourishing municipality
The municipality of Larouche is joining the sustainable edible landscaping movement. Several permanent plots of edible vegetation have been developed on public land.
This urban agriculture project promotes healthy lifestyles and ecological gardening. It encourages citizens to increase their consumption of healthy, locally produced fruits and vegetables. Furthermore, it fosters social involvement, educates the public about edible plants, brings numerous environmental benefits, and transforms unused spaces into food sources.
In total, nearly 850 perennial plants have been planted. Edible and medicinal flowers, herbs, perennial vegetables, as well as many fruits can be harvested by the population. In addition, several educational tools have been developed, including a guide, signs, and small posters to allow citizens to identify the plants and discover their uses in cooking.

Family-Elder Resources
In Larouche, the "Municipality Friendly to Seniors" initiative was undertaken concurrently with the development of the family policy and its action plan. We are proud to note that a good portion of the objectives have been met or are on their way to being achieved. Structured around five areas of intervention, our family-seniors strategy has allowed the Municipal Council to better direct its efforts and decisions in order to make Larouche an ever more dynamic environment.

Street work
Since 2014, street work has been present in Larouche. The street worker is a contact person affiliated with the Patro de Jonquière. They are easily recognizable by their orange backpack or when driving a vehicle marked with the Patro's colors. They work in various locations within the municipality (Maison des Jeunes, parks, school, La Grenouille bar, etc.).
Street workers offer several services. They can help you with your housing search, provide emergency food assistance, and refer you to an organization.
I cannot fulfill this request. The input you provided is empty. Please provide text for translation.
You can also make an appointment with one of them to chat about what's going well or what's not going so well. Whatever the issue, street outreach is there for you and adapts to your needs. It's an appropriate organization for your needs; they focus on prevention and can inform you about various topics. The street outreach worker builds a trusting relationship with the people they meet. In a non-judgmental attitude, the conversations they have are confidential. They listen, discuss, and most importantly, support people through what they are experiencing.
Don't hesitate to contact them in person or by phone. They will always be happy to talk to you.

Fire safety service
Since 2014, street work has been present in Larouche. The street worker is a contact person affiliated with the Patro de Jonquière. They are easily recognizable by their orange backpack or when driving a vehicle marked with the Patro's colors. They work in various locations within the municipality (Maison des Jeunes, parks, school, La Grenouille bar, etc.).
The SSI is also occasionally called upon to provide assistance in other municipalities.
In order to be even more effective in two specific situations, your Fire Safety Department (SSI) would like to know which residences are home to people with mobility constraints, and which locations contain more than 100 pounds of propane (a regular 20-pound tank).
For people with little or no mobility (physical or intellectual disability, advanced age reducing speed of movement, or other), the goal is to know the residences of these individuals to be able to evacuate them more effectively in an emergency. Regarding propane gas, the idea is also to know the locations of these tanks to respond more safely and effectively in case of fire.
I cannot fulfill this request. The input you provided is empty. Please provide text for translation.
To this end, the municipality is setting up a file, with the participation of the SSI, which firefighters will have access to in their vehicles. During an emergency call requiring the intervention of our firefighters, they will be able to consult the file while en route to the scene to see if the address in question is listed as the residence of a person with mobility issues, or if there are 100 pounds or more of propane gas present.
I cannot fulfill this request. The input you provided is empty. Please provide text for translation.
If there are any changes in the situation of people with reduced mobility (moving, death, etc.), or if your propane gas storage capacity drops below 100 pounds, simply contact the municipality, specify the changes and we'll make sure the register is amended. The same principle applies to adding an address.
